Depot Access Fest 2026

Saturday, 3rd of October

Following on from the very first Access Fest event in 2025, we are excited to announce it’s return for 2026!

Access Fest is a festival to celebrate making climbing more accessible! #MakingEverybodyStrong is our motto, and part of that is to share climbing with as many people as we can, because climbing is a fantastic activity, and the more people we can get involved, the better!

There will be Paraclimbing Competition with specifically set climbs for each category. Expect a fun-filled centre with stalls promoting and explaining what they are doing for accessibility in climbing, alongside workshops and local vendors.

Extra Details

Qualifying

The qualifying will be in a scramble format. Climbers can work around the competition area at their own pace, climbing selected boulders for their category that will be marked on both the wall and via the Griptonite app.

Climbers will then self-score their number of attempts required for each climb to generate a score.

Break

In between qualifying and finals, there will be a 60-minute break for everyone to rest and get some food while the finals boulders are prepared and qualifying scores totalled.

Finals

The finals will take place on the competition wall located at the front of the centre, with ample room for spectators.  Finalists will prepare out of view of the competition wall before being called up to climb, before attempting 3 separate boulder problems with a rest period in between.

Once all competitors have tried their boulders, there will be a brief pause while the scores are counted, ahead of a short prize-giving ceremony.
