What are the options for Performance Route Climbing classes?

Route Climbing Technique (Autobelays)

These sessions focus on the fundamentals of techniques that are essential for building a solid foundation for route climbing. With a focus on weight distribution between arms and legs, and form using the hips through specific drills to learn, develop and deploy the techniques necessary.

Managing Pump Whilst Climbing (Autobelays)

The pump comes for us all when pushing the grade.  Focusing on the various gears needed to complete a route, such as when to put in maximum effort, how and when to rest to recuperate enough to send, and optimising the pace of your climbing.

Mindset & Fear of Falling (Lead Climbing)

Lots of climbers are scared of falling off on a lead, or are at least unable to fall off whilst trying hard. On this session you will learn how to understand this fear and develop techniques to help manage it and unlock our potential.

Focusing on the key decisions that come with managing the risk of falling to become confident in marginal movements on the wall that can result in falling.  There are 5 main areas of focus in these sessions that will help you gain the confidence you need to perform at your highest level and manage your mindset and acceptable risk level.

Trying Routes Above Your Limit (Lead Climbing)

These sessions will develop a climber’s ability to read a route and set expectations around onight, flash, or redpoint climbing and the techniques required, such as top roping moves versus leading.  Climbers can expect to learn the mindset required to push their climbing to the next level on the sharp end.

Learning the process of projecting or ‘Redpointing’ is vital for climbing our hardest routes. In this session, you will learn how to break down a route and work out the moves most efficiently and tactically for the send.

Who are these sessions for?

These are climbing coaching sessions, aimed at climbers actively looking to push their grades and roped climbing abilities.

Participants will also need to be signed off on our climbing proficiency requirement for the Mindset & Routes Above Your Limit sessions.  If you’ve just finished our Learn to Lead classes, we suggest around 3 months of consolidation of your climbing to get the most out of your coaching, and be able to climb our 6b routes.
