A Bad Day at the Office at Depot Birmingham

No matter where or when you’ve been climbing, indoors or outdoors, the chances are you’ve experienced things getting a little bit wild. The foot that feels like it’s about to slip, the next committing move feeling that little bit improbable, or the weather coming in mid-way through a sea cliff adventure.

When you’ve been climbing as long as Robbie has, you collect quite a library of tall tales of adventure, often enjoyed more after the fact (see Type 2 fun), but always better than a bad day at the office…

After some thrilling tales of adventure, Robbie will premier his latest adventure film from St. Kilda, a remote archipelago 35 nautical miles from the Scottish coast, where adventure awaits around every corner.

When you’ve watched some jaw-dropping adventure, you’ll be able to ask Robbie all the questions you like about life on the sharp end.

More about Robbie

Robbie Phillips is one of the UK’s top all-round climbers and adventurers, with high-end sport climbing and bouldering to bold traditional climbing, big walls and alpine routes under his belt, Robbie has plied his trade in every corner of the globe at some of the biggest and wildest crags known to climbers.

A proud Scot, Robbie has a reputation for cutting-edge ascents and inspirational adventures, and more recently has dedicated a lot of his time and craft to pushing limits in his native Scotland and surrounding isles.

Having developed a taste for adventure through his Grandfather’s career in the Merchant Navy, Robbie found climbing via the Duke of Edinburgh Award at 15 and hasn’t looked back since!

Soon becoming a member of the youth climbing squad at Edinburgh’s Ratho climbing wall, seasons as an international competitive climber beckoned, before becoming Head Coach of the Scottish climbing team as well as setting routes internationally.

Eventually, adventure came calling again to steal Robbie away from the indoor climbing environment, taking him to all corners of the globe, and experiencing almost all the various rock types and climbing disciplines on offer! From sport climbing and bouldering to trad, winter and big wall climbing, Robbie has experienced it all.

Now a prominent filmmaker, writer, public speaker and YouTube’er, Robbie captures his adventures and travels the UK sharing his tall tales, and to use his own words “Pure, unadulterated climbing…no b******t!”.
