Our Climbing Instructors

All of our instructors are Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Checked upon employment and receive the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) training to ensure that all children participating in any Depot Climbing activity are in the safest hands.

Coach to Participant ratio never exceeds 1:8 and is often 1:6, ensuring that all participants receive the best quality coaching.

Our instructors also hold relevant qualifications such as Climbing Wall Instructor certificates, which are a requirement for teaching indoor climbing skills.

If you do not hold a CWI certificate or higher and also have freelance insurance and first aid certificates, you will need to book our expert instructors for your sessions. These certificates must be held to supervise U18s in our centres.

All of our instructors are Insured and First Aid trained.

What is Bouldering?

Bouldering provides the perfect opportunity for students to develop their problem-solving resilience both physically and mentally.

Bouldering is a form of ‘free climbing’ that is fast becoming the most popular form of climbing; this is down to its simplicity, just climbing!

With no need for rope skills and knot tying, bouldering frees participants to focus on short sequences that require both physical and mental problem-solving skills.

Bouldering can teach students to be confident when facing challenges, learn to cope with fear and stress, and develop self-reliance,  whilst learning intrinsic motivation and building resilience.

Depot Climbing is one of the UK’s largest providers of indoor rock climbing, unlike a Clip’n’Climb style centre, we are a commercial climbing wall providing professional climbing training to all ages.
