SOCIAL CLIMBING
Alongside our coaching sessions for adults and juniors, we have a range of social sessions because we firmly believe that climbing is for everyone, and is better shared with friends!
That’s why we have a range of instructor-led social sessions that are free with entry to anyone who may want to join. From making new friends and climbing partners to the simplicity of being social, join us for a range of social climbing sessions.
Although instructor-led, these sessions are sociable and informal. If you’d like to learn the skills to be signed off to safely climb unsupervised in our centre, follow the Classes link below.
If you’ve not been before, please check our Registrations page as all participants at Depot Nottingham require a completed registration form.

Every Monday, 7:30-9:30 pm is Women’s Night; a social session for all women, including trans women, of all abilities who want to climb and socialise together.
This is a coach-led climbing session, with a focus on female climbing styles in bouldering.
As a social session, we encourage you to arrive up to 20 minutes before the start of the session to enjoy a free tea or coffee and get to know an awesome community of like-minded, strong women who are keen to challenge gravity.

LGBTQ+ Night
Depot Nottingham LGBTQ+ Sessions is a social climbing space for those who want to enjoy an encouraging environment with one of our instructors on hand to provide some informal coaching for indoor rock climbing.
As with all of our social sessions, we encourage you to arrive a little early to the session and enjoy a sociable chat/meet-and-greet with a free brew in the cafe before we start.
This event takes place weekly, on Wednesdays at 7 pm.

Sensory-Friendly Hours
We’re aware that a lot is going on inside a climbing centre, from busy periods of footfall to loud music and drills filling the space.
That’s why we’ve looked at when we can point to some less stimulating hours for those who prefer a quieter visit to enjoy climbing without all of the hullabaloo that can often go with it.
Between 9 am and 12 pm, every Monday, we will ensure that there is no drill work taking place within the centre (if necessary, we will signpost) and either turn the music down or off, so that you can enjoy a quieter time while you climb.
This is not a conventional social session, but a specified time in our centre that can be utilised for a sensory climbing experience. If you would like to see us start a sensory social session, please get in touch to register your interest.

Depot Nottingham is a member of the Association of British Climbing Walls.
