Winter Bouldering Leagues 2024/25

Stay strong, winter is coming! Winter Bouldering Leagues return to Depot Climbing this winter season to keep you moving throughout the cold months.

3 months, 3 rounds, scores for each round combine for your league total score.  To qualify for the prizes on offer, you must have entered a scorecard for every round!

We’ve got 2x 1 years FREE CLIMBING to give away to participants who submit a scorecard across all of our Depot Climbing centres, and each site will raffle off a pair of climbing shoes of the recipient’s choice.

What is the Winter Bouldering League?

Here to foster a sense of community within each Depot Climbing site, Winter Bouldering Leagues inject a bit of friendly competition and an opportunity for climbers of all abilities to experience a competitive environment without pressure.

6 Depot Climbing centres will host 3 rounds of the Winter Bouldering League competition, Round 1 will take place in November/December, Round 2 will take place in January, and the final Round 3 will take place in February.

Unlike in previous years of Bouldering Leagues, scorecards will be available for £1 per round, with proceeds going to charity, and Depot WBL rounds will be set in/on a specific area of a designated competition wall in each participating site. Each scorecard purchased and submitted acts as a raffle ticket to win either one of two 1 year of free climbing, or a pair of climbing shoes of your choice.

Be sure to check what days scoring is open at your local Depot site.

Your scorecards can be accessed by asking at the front desk once you have completed your charity donation. Scores will be submitted online, with results available within 24 hours of completion of the round.

Please enter your scores within the time limit of the round, any scores NOT submitted by the time the round closes will not be counted, with no exceptions.

How do they work?

It’s all so simple! Each round will consist of 20 boulders, ranging from V0-V8, climb as many of them as you can, in as few attempts as possible, all while having fun! The scoring works:

  • 1st attempt = 10 points
  • 2nd attempt= 7 points
  • 3rd attempt = 4 points
  • 4+ attempts = 1 point

R3 scores will count double.

Your final League score will be all of your round scores combined from the series.

Problems will be up on the walls until the reset for the next round, however, scores only count on the designated round days, your scores won’t be counted if not submitted during the current round.
