Depot Climbing Athlete Dave Sutcliffe’s New Film
In many ways, it’s felt a little like the world has stopped turning over the past year. The restrictions on driving across the country (never mind trips abroad) have seen projects put on hold and plans sent back to the drawing board. But in the midst of all of the challenges brought by the pandemic, something magical has happened, too.
Unable to venture further afield, climbers around the world have started to appreciate some of the more overlooked opportunities on their doorsteps. For Depot athlete Dave Sutcliffe, this has been a chance to share his passion for the local Yorkshire crags that he’s been championing for years. We’re delighted to be able to share this first instalment in a three-part series, featuring a couple of Depot faces you might recognise. Here’s Dave to introduce his film:
“Over the last 18 months I thought I’d spend a bit of time on the moors and try and showcase some of my local crags. It was good to revisit some old classics and tick a few new things off in the process. Climbing around the various lockdown rules, it was good to make the most of my local crags, as in my opinion they are some of the best Yorkshire has to offer. As always, it was great to see other climbers cranking projects and making rare repeats. I’d like to make a big shout out to all the other climbers involved. Enjoy. Cheers, Dave”
