Dayan Akhtar selected to represent Great Britain
The IFSC Climbing Youth World Championships 2021 are taking place in Voronezh (Russia) from 20-31 August this year. It is with a huge amount of pride and excitement that we can announce that Depot Academy member Dayan Akhtar has been selected to represent GB Climbing. Here’s what 17-year-old Dayan had to say about his selection:
“Super happy to finally compete this summer at my first IFSC comp after a long few years to get here. I’m feeling psyched and ready to give it my best”.
He will be joined in the Junior category by: British Bouldering Champion and Depot Climbing athlete Emily Phillips, Hannah Smith, Katherine MacDougall Daniel Smith, Finley Wood and Hamish McArthur.
All of the athletes have trained incredibly hard and shown a tremendous amount of dedication throughout the challenges of the past year. We can’t wait to cheer them on.
