Depot Nottingham Refurbishment

Depot Climbing

Following on from May 2020’s refurb that added a mezzanine with a further 150m2 of climbing, Depot Climbing’s site in Nottingham has some more TLC planned to improve its indoor rock climbing experience.

This will result in a slight disruption to regular service, but we promise it won’t take long, and you’ll love your updated bouldering wall!

Our redevelopment plans include removing the middle island and remodeling the wall beyond the competition wall to the rear of the centre.  This will create a  more spacious area to enjoy world-class indoor rock climbing.

What will be happening?

Rebuilding work begins on the 21st of August and will involve the closure of the centre for 24 hours, following which, we will be open on a slightly reduced schedule of 3 pm opening to allow for work to continue without too much disruption to your Depot Nottingham climbing centre experience.

We will be removing the first middle island from our centre to provide more space, and adding a new ‘dog bone’ wall on the left-hand side of the centre that will begin at the end of the current comp wall and run through to the mezzanine area.

To reduce disruption to the centre, we will close to the public for one day (21st August) to allow demolition work to be carried out safely.

Following this, work will continue early each morning until the early afternoon. The centre opening times will be 3 pm-10 pm until the work is complete; the timeframe for all work to be completed is 2 weeks. (Monday 21st of August –  Friday 1st of September).

During our opening periods, construction areas will be cordoned off for safety, and you’ll also be able to keep your eye on the build’s progress.

Staff will be on hand throughout the process to ensure that the centre is clean, comfortable, and most importantly, safe for you to continue climbing around the temporary opening hours.

Work will culminate in one final day which will require the centre to be closed while finishing touches take place (31st August).

From Saturday the 2nd of September your improved Depot Nottingham climbing centre will be open as normal, with all works completed.

We want to make sure that the refurbishment work has minimal impact on your climbing with us. For this reason, we are giving you as much detail as possible and providing you with discounts for periods of disruption.
